White vinegar can help gardeners and farmers protect crops from weather, insects, and other threats to their health.

Many of the products we consume are produced in the fields, so the plants that are part of the crops  must be protected . We must also take the best possible care of plants that are only used for ornamental purposes or for a more natural domestic environment.

WHY WATER PLANTS WITH WHITE VINEGAR?

Finding solutions to the dangers that threaten plants is important, one of the natural products used for this purpose is vinegar, which serves to protect crops  from insects and other threats .

Using vinegar on plants has multiple benefits, as, among other things, it helps regulate soil pH, as well as treat or prevent pests and diseases.

Although it is widely used for cooking, vinegar is also one of the main products for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and appliances, to remove grease from the kitchen, lime from the shower or difficult stains from clothing.

In addition, vinegar (apple, wine or white) has important  beneficial properties  for outdoor and indoor plants, since it is an effective herbicide. However, it has many other uses, such as pest control or  disinfection of materials.

The leaves of your plants are prone to collecting dust and dirt over time. Therefore, to keep them always clean, it is advisable to use a microfibre cloth or regular cotton pads and wipe the leaves with vinegar   (a mixture of two parts water and one part vinegar).

You will see that in a short time they will be bright again and much greener!

Additionally, vinegar softens the outer shell of the seeds, allowing them to sprout faster and healthier.

Simply soak the seeds in water overnight and add 5 to 8 drops of white vinegar: you will notice the difference!

Regulates soil pH and keeps flowers fresh

Thanks to its acidity, vinegar  also helps regulate soil pH , which benefits acidophilic plants  such as ficus elastica, hydrangeas and gardenias.

Mix a tablespoon of white vinegar with a quart of water and water the plant.  This same acetic content is excellent for keeping mold at bay that can develop on some plants.

Simply add two tablespoons of vinegar to a three-litre jug of water and shake before spraying the affected area of ​​the plant.

Vinegar also helps inhibit the growth of bacteria and keep cut flowers fresher for longer. To do this, simply add two tablespoons of white vinegar and one teaspoon of sugar to a bowl of water.

Not only that, garden tools can be cleaned of rust by simply soaking them for a few hours. Vinegar, being acidic, can be sprayed on to remove dried leaves .

If, on the other hand, you want to keep your pet away from indoor plants, soak an old cloth or rag in vinegar and place it near the pots .

This will keep them away, as neither dogs nor cats can stand the smell of vinegar.
