Yes, that’s right, the main ingredient is rice and it won’t take you long to make and we guarantee you an absolutely lush result that rivals the best fertilizer on the market.
Let’s see together how to do it and what it takes.
Fertilize plants and flowers with rice.
It doesn’t matter if they are geraniums, begonias, sulfites, verbenas or others. The result will be the same!
Let’s say this lends itself a little to all plants but is more suitable for all acidophilic plants since rice-based fertilizer tends to lower the pH of the soil. The most suitable plants or flowers are: geraniums, hydrangeas, bougainvilleas, camellias, mulberry trees, azaleas, cherry trees, lemon trees and larch.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 handfuls of rice (about 200 g)
- 2 liters of distilled water
- a large pot
- A strainer to filter
Method
Put the 4 handfuls of rice into the pot and immediately add the distilled water. At this point begin to rub the rice as if you wanted to rinse it, proceed by rubbing your hand and agitating it with a circular massage. Insist for at least 2 minutes and then let everything rest for 3 hours.
At this point, we proceed to filter the contents of the pot with a medium/small sieve to separate the liquid component from the rice grains.
You will notice that the distilled water will have taken on the typical whitish color after the release of the rice starch but also of all its nutrients such as potassium and phosphorus present in the rice. This mixture of properties will be a real gift from heaven for your plants and will benefit the very health of our flowers, which will appear lush and beautiful.
To fertilize with rice, you don’t need who knows what effort or expenditure of money. In fact, everything is very cheap while still having an indisputable result.
We advise you to fertilize your plants and flowers every 15 days . And if you have some cooking water from the rice you ate for lunch, even better! You can use the same water (cold) to water and then fertilize, however, it is necessary that you have not dissolved the salt in your cooking water.
