Poinsettia  is beautiful, but not very easy to maintain and, above all, to make it  bloom again.

This plant is about to fill our homes with joy and color, but we are all convinced that as soon as the holidays are over we will have to throw it away.

In fact, most of the time it is like this, because the Poinsettia is a delicate plant, but it goes without saying: with some  well-aimed tricks  and a little luck, it could bloom again next year.

How do you store poinsettia?

This is what you should do. Getting the poinsettia to bloom again is difficult, but not impossible.

After the holidays, wait for the red leaves to fall and then  sprout the branches that bloom again  (this happens around February).

Cut each branch about 10 cm.

When spring arrives, around May,  repot the plant  by placing it in a container larger than a couple of centimeters, no more.

If you exaggerate with the size of the vase, you run the risk of finding a specimen full of leaves but with few flowers.

At the bottom, place a generous layer of expanded clay, which will help the soil to always be well drained.

Throughout the summer, the plant should be kept in the shade and in September the soil should be fertilized.

If you have carried out these small operations correctly, with a little luck you will see your poinsettia bloom again between the end of September and the beginning of October.
