Why put it on the broom
For this trick, you won’t need a whole lemon, but its juice. Before proceeding, however, it will be necessary to clean the broom. In fact, it’s a tool we use every day but don’t always remember to clean. To do this, you will have to tap or comb the bristles well.
Cleaning the broom should be done outdoors, as the amount of dust released could be large. Think, for example, of banging the broom against an exterior wall or a terrace.
With the passage of time, hedges become stiff. This is where lemon juice comes in. Specifically, you’ll need two or three lemons. Squeeze them manually or with a lemon squeezer. Next, heat the juice. Soaking the bristles should take about ten minutes.
Alternatively, you can sprinkle some juice on the head of the broom, which will make the bristles softer. This way, they will be able to pick up dirt better. The lifespan of your broom will be considerably longer.
Also, remember that to make your broom last longer, you should always hang it or turn it upside down. In this way, the ergonomics of the bristles will not be compromised.
