The phalanx , also called spider plant, is a tropical plant native to South Africa and widely used as a houseplant and decoration.
It is evergreen and therefore very easy to grow and also very tolerant of periods of neglect or forgetfulness.
- Sunlight : The phalanx does not like direct light, it also thrives in places with cooler temperatures. Excessively exposed leaves tend to turn white and suffer tip burns.
- Watering : The spider plant should be watered every day with a modest amount of water. The soil should never be soggy.
- Fertilizers : You can add natural or specific fertilizers directly to the pot once a month.
- Pepper : Rarely necessary. What you need to do regularly is to remove the dry leaves instead.
- Infestation : This type of plant is prone to mite infestation. You can solve the problem by misting a neem oil solution once a week until they are gone.
- Repotting : Only if the plant is too big for the pot, you can do a simple transplant to a larger “house” so that the roots have more space.
You can easily propagate the plant by cuttings method. .
