For lovers of plants in all their forms and variety, we must say that the rosemary plant is medicinal and very aromatic. In fact, it is the most used for cooking, health and beauty. But like all plants, it is essential to know how to care for rosemary.
For those who are more experts in plant care, they assure that it does not require too much care, only what is necessary. However, it is important to follow certain care, especially when we have it in a pot.

It is interesting to keep in mind its benefits and properties:
- It is a digestive plant, so it helps relieve discomfort caused by poor digestion, such as heartburn, flatulence, etc.
- Something fundamental is that it helps us take care of the liver and gallbladder, excellent as a preventative.
- It acts as a very powerful natural antibiotic.
- It also serves to treat oral problems such as preventing cavities, reducing infections and even inflammations in the mouth, eliminating bad breath, among other benefits.
For this and much more, particularly for its culinary properties, we must familiarize ourselves well with the care we must apply to this plant when we have it at home.
Let’s see how to do it below:
1) Flowerpot
It is important to know that rosemary requires great drainage and a pot where enough water accumulates, because it is a plant from dry environments.
One recommendation is to place stones at the bottom of the pot as a base, this helps the rosemary drain as it needs.
2) Cutting
As a first measure, choose a healthy cutting that should be at least 10 centimeters long. You should also remove the leaves from the 4 centimeters of the cutting and add water. The count must be from bottom to top.
You have to observe when the first white roots begin to sprout, that is when it will be time to transfer it to a pot.
3) Irrigation
When we have transferred the cutting to the pot, only the roots are placed in the ground and the rest is left outside.
Irrigation is carried out when we see that the land is completely dry, only in these conditions.
In the winter season, watering will be only once a week and in summer it is only watered only 2 times a week.
An extremely important reminder, before watering we can bury a finger in the soil to make sure it is dry.
4) Lighting
Rosemary is a plant that requires many hours of sun a day, in fact the more sun it receives it will become more beautiful. However, let us be careful that during the season of intense heat the leaves do not burn.
A recommendation is to find a place with sun and some shade to balance the heat, as well as in times of mild or even cold temperatures, it would be advisable to place it in the home in a place with as much natural light as possible.
If we follow all these rosemary care to the letter, we will obtain a perfect and completely healthy plant for any type of use you want to give it!
