Manufacturing processes are another factor that determines the final price of a species. Saffron, for example, is well known in Europe, and is marketed in Italy – and also in the rest of the European continent – at a price considered medium-high due to the specific function and the refining to which it is subjected after cultivation.

The most expensive plant in the world.
The most expensive plant of all, both in Italy and in the rest of the world, is called Shenzhen Nongke Orchid. It is the first plant produced by man, in fact it took up to 8 years of research to create this flower.
Its price to date is $202,000!
This orchid, also known as kinabalu gold, originates and grows in Borneo’s Kinabalu National Park, in Southeast Asia. It is also a lucky charm plant, beautiful and super rare because it takes about 15 years from the time the seed is planted until the flower is born.
The Kadupul flower
The Shenzhen Nongke orchid isn’t the only one that’s super expensive. Also added to the ranking is the kadupul flower, whose price is incalculable. It is a rare and fragile specimen that lives only a few hours and then dies! This rare and precious flower has origins from Sri Lanka and blooms around midnight.
