We often use vinegar and baking soda to remove limescale. However, the results don’t always live up to our expectations.
Baking soda and vinegar: classic solutions
It’s true that these two ingredients, alone or mixed, can dissolve scale, but they can also be a bit rough on surfaces due to their often corrosive pH. Not to mention, bits of baking soda can scratch steel.

So what should we do? Give up and go back to chemical cleaners? Of course not!
There is a natural ingredient, of vegetable origin, which is very effective in this area. And you’ll be surprised!

Cleaning the bathroom with cucumber
Cucumber is one of the most commonly used green vegetables in salads. It is particularly appreciated for its freshness, its soothing and rehydrating effect. But what you didn’t know is that it’s also very popular for fighting limescale deposits! Surprising, isn’t it? Even our grandmothers used it regularly to clean their stoves!
How does it work? Rub a slice of cucumber all over the surface, leave on for a few minutes and wipe with a clean cloth. It also works in bathroom fixtures. Rub well on steel and metal, leave on for ten minutes, rinse and dry.

The properties of cucumber are also very useful in your garden. Cut three or four pieces and place them in a container to leave near the plants. This trick will keep caterpillars and snails away.
Finally, a little-known beauty ritual: cucumber slices, straight from the refrigerator, can soothe reddened skin and bags around the eyes. This application, made every other day, is miraculous in significantly reducing dark circles and bags under the eyes.
