The lemon tree is a very common tree, known not only for its fruits, but also for its fragrant flowers.
Very often, however, this plant may have difficulty flowering, indicating that something is wrong.
Let’s see what the causes could be.
- Maturity of the plant: if the plant is young, it is not yet capable of producing flowers. In fact, only mature plants flower, not those that have just been planted or propagated.
- Season : for plants, seasonality is fundamental, and must be respected. When it comes to lemons, the blooming season falls in spring and early fall, when temperatures are appropriate.
- Nutrients: A well-nourished plant is healthy and strong and can grow, therefore also produce flowers. These nutrients can be supplemented by the use of natural fertilizers.
- Light: Exposure to the sun also plays a key role. If the plant is placed in the shade, it will have difficulty flowering, because the lemon needs at least 5 to 6 hours of direct light per day.
- Water: This plant needs a lot of water to grow. However, it is necessary to find a balance to prevent too much water from damaging it further.
- Insects : as with all plants, even lemons can be victims of insects that harm their health. For this reason, it is important to protect it with organic pesticides.
