Ingredients
- 300 gr. of Mandarin
- 1/2 Lemon (sliced)
- 200 gr. of sugar
- Christmas spices to taste
Watch the video that shows the whole procedure:
Step by step
- Peel off each quarter of tangerine and place them in a small saucepan.
- Then, add the 200 grams of sugar.
- Next, cut half a lemon into slices and place it in a small bag to facilitate its removal after cooking. This lemon will help activate the gelling of the jam due to the pectin it contains.
- Next step, mix the tangerines and sugar, then blend everything to release the juice. Do this slowly to avoid splashing.
- Before continuing, add a teaspoon of Christmas spice to add a festive touch to the jam.
- Finally, add the bag containing the lemon and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, let cool completely. You can speed up the process by placing the mixture in front of an open window or in a cool place.
- Bring the jam to a boil a second time and cook for 5 minutes. Let cool again.
- Repeat the process a third time: bring to a boil, cook for 5 minutes and let cool.
- Ready! Your jam is now ready. It takes only 20 minutes of work and a little patience to get it cool, but with the window open, it’s very fast!
Enjoy this delicious jam as a perfect condiment for the holidays or any special occasion, to serve on breakfast specials or spread on whatever we like the most. The possibilities are endless!
COUNCILS:
Lemon Bag: Placing the lemon in a sachet makes it easy to remove after cooking, ensuring that its flavor is integrated without the slices remaining in the jam.
Add Spices in Moderation: Christmas spices will add a festive touch, but add them sparingly so as not to overpower the fresh flavor of the tangerines.
Cooldown Time: Allow the mixture to cool completely between each boil to allow the flavors to develop and mix properly.
