How to Grow and Harvest Potatoes in a Short Time

• 3 sprouted potatoes
• 4 old 20-litre buckets
• 2 bricks
• Substrate
• Low amount of cement

For starters, if you don’t have sprouted potatoes on hand, don’t worry. You can easily make them at home. Simply take a small bucket and fill it with a good amount of dry grass forming a base. Then, place the potatoes on the dry grass and cover it with more grass. Then, water properly and in about 7 days, you will have sprouted potatoes ready to use.

1. Now, let’s move on to the cultivation process itself. We will take the buckets and drill holes in two of them, large enough to allow good water drainage.
2. Then, we will place a brick in the bottom of the buckets that do not have holes and overlap those that have holes on top. This step ensures good drainage while retaining the moisture needed for potato growth.
3. Next, we will fill the buckets with substrate until we reach approximately 3/4 of their capacity. Now it’s time to prepare the sprouted potatoes. We will cut each potato in half and pass the cut part through a little cement to seal it.
4. We will place three potato halves in each of the buckets, with the cemented part facing down, and we will cover them with a little substrate.
