Materials needed:
- An aluminum lid (preferably a large pot or skillet)
- Pliers
- Heavy-duty adhesive tape
- Coaxial cable (optional, if you want to connect it directly to the antenna)
- Scissors
- Seals
Procedure:
- Select the right aluminum cap: Choose an aluminum lid large enough to cover a sizable portion of the back of the TV. Ideally, it should have a diameter of at least 25 cm.
- TV Location: Make sure the TV is in a location with good exposure to signals, preferably near a window or in an elevated position.
- Preparing the aluminum lid: If the lid has a large handle or anything that could interfere, carefully remove it using scissors or a suitable tool, making sure the surface is as flat as possible.
- Attaching the lid behind the TV: Place the aluminum cover on the back of the TV, making sure it is centered. Make sure that the flatter side of the lid is attached to the TV and that the concave side is facing outwards.
- Fixing the lid: Use the sturdy tape to attach the cover to the TV. Make sure it’s securely fastened to prevent it from falling or shifting.
- Position adjustment: Once the lid is on, turn on the TV and check the reception of the channels. You can move the lid slightly sideways or at different angles to find the best position that maximizes signal pickup.
- Connection to coaxial cable (optional): If you want to further improve reception, you can connect a coaxial cable to the aluminum cover and the antenna input of the TV. To do this, cut one end of the coaxial cable, exposing the inner metal part, and tape it to the edge of the lid.
- Channel Tuning: It performs an automatic channel search on your TV so it can pick up all the signals available in your area. The TV will look for new signals and add them to the channel list.
- Final Test and Adjustment: Once the channel search is complete, check the signal quality on each channel. If necessary, adjust the position of the aluminum lid again to optimize reception.
