Add cinnamon to toilet paper
The smell of cinnamon, like that of bay leaf, is unpleasant to insects, especially mosquitoes, which naturally and effectively keeps them away.
Materials Needed
- Toilet paper (4 sheets)
- Cinnamon powder (1 tablespoon)
- Toothpaste (a small amount)
- A small bowl
- Bay leaves
- A glass container
- Matches or lighter
Procedure
- Prepare the toilet paper:
- Take four sheets of toilet paper and fold them in half. Slowly roll the leaves into a small “roll”. Make sure to twist it well between your fingers so that it doesn’t fall apart.
- Prepare the cinnamon mixture:
- In a small bowl, add a tablespoon of cinnamon and a small amount of toothpaste. Mix well until you get a homogeneous paste. The mixture should be neither too liquid nor too thick.
- Apply the mixture to the toilet paper:
- Spread the mixture around the toilet paper “roll” evenly, covering the entire surface.
- Reinforce the effect with bay leaves:
- In a glass container, place some bay leaves. Then, place the “roll” soaked in the cinnamon mixture on the leaves. This will enhance the effects that we will see below.
- Turn on the blend:
- Take it outside and turn it on. Toilet paper will not burn quickly, but will be consumed slowly, releasing an aroma that repels mosquitoes and other insects.
Councils
- Always do this outdoors, as smoke can be annoying indoors.
- Make sure the mixture covers the toilet paper well for the best effect.
- This technique is not only useful against mosquitoes, but also against other insects that do not tolerate the aroma of cinnamon.
- Using good quality cinnamon powder will maximize the repellent effects.
- Try adding more bay leaves or even other herbs like rosemary to further enhance the effect.
