- 1 or more used or new car spark plugs
- Pliers or a small press
- Clean and empty glass bottles

- Small hammer (optional)

Step-by-step procedure
- Prepare the spark plug:
- Use the pliers to carefully remove the metal screw that is inserted into the center of the spark plug. This screw usually comes out with moderate force.
- Once removed, the ceramic surrounding the hole can be used as a kind of abrasive drill bit.
- Holding the bottle:
- Place the bottle on a firm, padded surface to prevent slipping. A tray with sand or a foam holder is ideal.
- Put on your goggles and gloves before you start.
- Mark the hole point:
- Using a metal tip or the spark plug itself, gently mark the spot where you want to make the hole. This helps prevent it from slipping during the process.
- Start drilling:
- Using circular motions and moderate pressure, begin rubbing the ceramic end of the spark plug against the glass at the marked point.
- It is important not to exert too much pressure all at once. Friction must be constant but controlled.
- You can pour water over the friction point to cool the area and reduce the risk of cracks.
- Continue until fully drilled:
- After a few minutes, you’ll notice that the glass begins to wear away and form a small hole.
- Be patient, as the process can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the glass.
