Materials Needed
- 4 PVC pipes of equal size
- Hot air gun
- Heat-resistant tweezers
- Thermal gloves
- Heavy weight or press
- Fibron
- Drill
- Strong glue for plastic
- Metal for rivets
- Sandpaper
- Glossy varnish suitable for PVC
Procedure
- Preparing the PVC
pipes Take the 4 PVC pipes and make a cut along each one. Use a heat gun to heat the tube while holding it in place. When it is warm enough, use thermal gloves to shape it into a flat sheet. - Flattening the PVC
Once you achieve a flat shape, place the material under a heavy object so that it does not lose its shape while it cools. - Creating the Base
Parts Repeat the process with the other tubes and select two of the flat parts. Heat them again and join them, placing both in a press so that they are well adhered. This process ensures a solid foundation for your handle. - Construction of the layers
Mark the dimensions of the handle using a fibron and cut the pieces according to those measurements. Use a strong plastic glue and attach three PVC sheets. You can add a personal touch by using PVC pipes of different colors, creating a unique design. By the end, you should have two thick pieces of PVC with three coats each. - Molding the handle
Before assembling, cut the pieces to a shape that approximates the final design of the handle. This will make it easier to sand afterwards. - Adjusting the knife
Place the blade of the knife on each of the pieces of the handle and mark its contour. Cut off the excess PVC and use a drill to make three holes where the rivets will go. - Handle and blade
