When you have stinky drains, your house appears to be dirty even though it has been recently cleaned, from top to bottom.

That strange smell that is so annoying, you can also call it stench, it is very strong and makes environments uninhabitable. The smell of the kitchen or bathroom drain is caused by hairs that get trapped inside the pipes or better yet, by food scraps, which rot after a few weeks.
Little by little the smells increase and then spread through the rooms. To solve the problem, simply use natural products, which in a few steps and in a few minutes at most, will make the drains smell like new. These are quick and effective solutions, which do not require who knows what skill or even large expenses. There are also products indicated for the treatment of drains, but these cost a lot and are also harmful.
Boiling water to solve the problem of smelly drains
The first absolutely recommended method is to boil water. Traces of dirt, hair, grease, food, when in contact with high-temperature water, slide down the pipes. In this way, bad odors are neutralized. To proceed, heat a liter of water in a saucepan, once the temperature is reached, turn off the heat, take the saucepan by the handles (being careful not to burn yourself, it is recommended to wear gloves) and pour the water into the drain. First of all, obviously, you need to remove the lid.

The boiling water should act for hours, after which the tap can be turned on and routine cleaning can proceed. The same trick applies to cleaning smelly drains. in the bathroom, therefore the one with a toilet or the one with a shower. If the smell doesn’t go away with boiling water alone, you can use baking soda, which is usually miraculous.
Vinegar and baking soda, the miraculous mixture
At first you can only use baking soda: boil a liter of water in a saucepan. Once the heat is off, pour in four or five tablespoons of baking soda and mix the mixture to dissolve all the baking soda residues. Then you pour the solution down the drain. This method is especially valid for bathing. It is advisable to perform the operation only at night, so that the baking soda has a chance to dissolve properly overnight and act.

Obviously, in the meantime the bathroom should not be used. Then you can flush the toilet: the change will be obvious, the download will no longer stink, in fact it will be totally free of any bad smell.
For difficult situations, therefore for drains that smell excessively, a solution consisting of baking soda and vinegar is recommended. Together the two ingredients manage to eliminate all persistent bad odors. First remove the drain plug and then sprinkle the sink or shower with 100 grams of baking soda. Boil half a liter of water, once the heat is off, add a glass of vinegar and pour the solution down the drain.
As soon as the water and vinegar come into contact with the baking soda, a light foam is formed. That is capable of fighting bad odors in a short time. Simply leave the mixture on for a maximum of one night, then turn on the water jet and the bad smells will no longer be there.
Lemon, how to use it to enjoy its benefits to the fullest
To these is added one more remedy: lemon which, like vinegar, is never lacking when it comes to cleaning the house. Pour the juice of 2 lemons into the drain and leave it on for an hour or two. It will be much more effective if the lemon remains in contact with smelly drains for at least one night.

Then, the next day, you simply pour some water down the drain and the smell will be completely gone. It will also leave an excellent lemon smell, giving a pleasant feeling of freshness and cleanliness for a long time.
Citric acid
Finally, there is citric acid, only 150 grams are enough, which must be poured into a liter of boiling water.

Let the mixture sit for at least one night in stinky drains, whether it’s a sink, shower, bathtub, or toilet, it doesn’t matter. Then you turn on the water jet and that’s it.
