Using a power drill with different drill bit sizes, drill holes along the pipes. These holes serve as entry points for the mushroom seeds and allow for ventilation.

Step 2: prepare the straw. Similar to the bucket method, prepare the straw by cutting it into small pieces about 5 to 10 cm long.

Step 3: Boil the straw. Place the chopped straw in a large pot and cover with water. Boil the straw to sterilize it completely. After cooking, let it cool to room temperature.

Step 4: Layers of straw and mushroom seeds in PVC pipes Fill PVC pipes with alternating layers of cooked and cooled straw and mushroom seeds. Start with a layer of straw, then add mushroom seeds and continue layering until the seeds are almost full. Make sure that both materials are evenly distributed.

Step 5 : Incubation Cover the ends of the PVC pipes with a clean cloth or lid to ensure a dark environment. Place pipes in a cool, dark place where temperatures are between 70°F (21°C) and 75°F (24°C). During this phase the mycelium begins to colonize the straw.

Step 6: Maintain Moisture To facilitate fungal growth, keep the straw evenly moist. Water the pipes daily with a watering can or spray bottle. Avoid overwatering to avoid excessive moisture, which could lead to contamination.

Step 7: Growing and Harvesting Observation About 21 days after installation, you will notice mushroom-shaped needles forming on the surface of the straw on the PVC pipes. Maintain moisture levels as the needles turn into mature mushrooms. Harvest the mushrooms by gently rotating them and pulling them out of the holes in the tubes once they have reached the desired size.

Step 8: Continue harvesting. The mushrooms continue to grow, allowing for multiple harvests. Be careful to avoid spore release, as this can negatively affect future crops.

Disclaimer: Growing mushrooms at home requires attention to detail and sterilization to avoid contamination.
