In fact, traces of splatters and food debris accumulate there after each cooking and clog its walls. Fortunately, there is a simple method to remove them effortlessly.

Over time, the oven accumulates a significant amount of dirt and grease stains. Due to lack of time or will, cleaning is often postponed, even neglected. The result: food residues stick to the inner walls of the oven and are very difficult to remove. And as with all appliances, when maintenance is not done properly, performance cannot be optimal.

If you want to continue preparing roasted dishes without having to spend hours cleaning the oven, the secret is to apply the following trick. This is based on the use of a detergent product that has proven its effectiveness in terms of cleaning.

Clean the oven with a dishwasher capsule

Dishwasher capsule. Source: SPM

Due to their degreasing and disinfecting properties, dishwasher tablets are still an effective cleaning solution for the oven. To take advantage of its many virtues, simply place a capsule on a baking or refractory tray. Then pour boiling water over the product and place the container in the preheated oven at 100°C. Leave on for an hour, taking care to keep the oven door closed. The capsule will then begin to melt and diffuse a cleaning steam inside the oven. Thanks to the resulting steam, thedrops are thus deposited on the walls of the oven and soften stubborn dirt and food residues that will come off more easily. All you have to do is wipe with a damp cloth to complete the cleaning. For a flawless result, wipe again with a clean cloth. Dishwasher tablets are designed to deal with dirt at high temperatures. No wonder it works for cleaning the oven!

There are several methods to get rid of the dirt inside the oven. These offer a great alternative to chemical cleaning products. Here are a few examples.

Use table salt to thoroughly clean the oven

Salt at the oven door. Source: SPM

It is quite possible to clean the oven effortlessly using an accessible and natural ingredient: table salt. To start, sprinkle a sufficient amount of this ingredient on the dirty places in the oven. Then turn on the oven to a temperature of 180°C. The heat will brown the small salt particles that will dissolve the dirt. After about thirty minutes, turn off the oven and then open it, protecting yourself from escaping steam. Allow to cool and then, using a cloth dampened with water, wipe down the inside of the oven to remove burnt residue and dirt from other foods.

Opt for the bowl method to clean the oven

Bowl of lemon juice. Source: SPM

If you’re looking for an easy method to clean the oven, there’s nothing quite like the container method. All you need is a squeeze of lemon and a small container that can withstand the heat. Then squeeze the juice of four lemons and place it in the oven at a temperature of 250°C. Let the juice boil for about thirty minutes. Once this time has elapsed, remove the dish from the oven and wipe the interior walls with a damp cloth. Lemon is an excellent cleaner and disinfectant. At the same time, it removes all bad odors from the oven.

Don’t forget to clean the other components of the oven!

Oven rack. Source: SPM

For a flawless result, don’t ignore the other oven components like the rack or main window when cleaning. To do this, simply mix the baking powder with water to form a paste. Like baking soda, this white powder is ideal for degreasing and cleaning oven racks. After applying the product, it is possible to spray vinegar to complete the cleansing. Similarly, windows can also be cleaned with the above solution. Simply let the product sit for ten minutes before rinsing under running water.

To maintain its performance, the oven must be cleaned after each firing. To do this, regularly wipe a cloth soaked in a solution of warm water and liquid detergent over the surfaces to be cleaned. Depending on the frequency of use of the oven, deep cleanings can be carried out periodically with the aforementioned methods.

The oven is arguably one of the most difficult appliances to clean.
