Let’s see them together!

Baking soda

The first remedy is to use baking soda, an ingredient with very effective cleansing and degreasing properties.

Its light abrasive action is capable of removing raindrops, streaks and the most stubborn stains.

First of all, it is advisable to remove the dust to prevent it from “hardening” with water and moving from one part of the glass to another.

Then slightly dampen a microfiber cloth and dust the glass, taking care to dust the corners of the accessories as well.

At this point, all you have to do is pour some baking soda onto a damp sponge and then wipe it over the surface of the external glasses. Follow slow, circular motions and continue until the spots are gone.

After that, rinse with plenty of warm water and polish the windows with a soft cloth on which you have poured some vinegar. In fact, vinegar has degreasing properties capable of leaving the glass shiny, clean and transparent.

And voilà: your glasses will be free of dirt!

NB We recommend that you clean your exterior windows regularly after rain, to remove any traces of dirt and prevent them from accumulating.

Vinegar and cornstarch

Another very effective remedy is to combine two natural ingredients with each other: vinegar and cornstarch.

This mixture will allow you to thoroughly clean your external windows and remove all halos.

Then make a solution made up of water, wine vinegar, and cornstarch. The quantities are at personal discretion, the important thing is that a liquid solution comes out.

Then pour all the ingredients into a spray bottle and shake it vigorously to mix everything well. At this point, vaporize the mixture thus obtained on the surface of the external glasses.

Then sponge and follow circular movements, insisting on the points where dirt stains are most resistant. Finally, rinse the glass with a wrung out cloth and dry it with a sheet of newspaper.

We remind you, however, to always use newspaper sheets and not magazine sheets. The texture of the paper and ink will, in fact, absorb dirt and impurities and leave your windows super clean.

salt and lemon

Here’s the last trick to get your windows super clean after the rain!

If salt and lemon seem like a good combination of ingredients especially for seasoning dishes, you’re sorely mistaken!

These two ingredients, in fact, are very effective together also for ecological household cleaning.

Lemon has degreasing properties, descaling, and sanitizing properties. In addition, it releases an intoxicating aroma which is a property that should not be underestimated.

Salt, on the other hand, exerts an abrasive action like baking soda, capable of removing smog and sand particles adhered to windows by rain.

Then create a mixture consisting of a few tablespoons of salt, water, and lemon juice as needed. Pour everything into a spray bottle and apply the solution thus obtained to the surface of the glass.

Leave on for a few minutes, then dry with a sheet of newspaper.

And voilà: immediately brighter glasses!

Other Helpful Tips

Once we’ve seen how to clean windows and how to remove rain stains, let’s look at some other important tips to keep them always clean!

First of all, remember to wash the windows when it is cloudy outside . The direct rays of the sun, in fact, can compromise cleanliness and leave streaks.

In addition, it is advisable to use warm and not cold water to facilitate the removal of dirt.

Finally, we recommend that you never use the indicated remedies pure, but always diluted!

Warnings

The remedies are gentle and non-aggressive. However, avoid using abrasive sponges to avoid scratching the glass.

We also remind you to be very careful not to look out the window while cleaning.

If it is not easy for you to reach the entire outer area of the glass, you can help yourself with an adjustable telescopic handle.

In fact, rain brings with it microparticles of sand that usually produce halos and stains that are not easy to remove with the classic remedies that we usually use.
