The orchid is a plant of tropical origin, but it tends to adapt quite well to the temperate conditions of our country, however it needs to be transplanted in particular conditions, which can be guessed by some signs, more or less evident to novices in gardening.

It is a species of plant that requires enough space for roots and rich enough soil to grow freely. In particular, these must be in adequate conditions and must not be “mistreated” during the transplant, which must be carried out sooner or later.

In fact, it needs a lot of light and sufficiently moist soil, especially in summer, factors that can inevitably cause some problems.

The orchid requires a transplant when, for example, the roots have taken up too much space in the pot, or if the soil tends not to drain as efficiently as in the past (therefore, the soil remains moist for too long compared to normal). Other conditions include lack of growth and excessively short flowering.

Another sign is the shape and position of the stems and leaves, if they tend excessively downward.

It is essential to pay attention to dry or rotten roots, in this case it is advisable shortly after removing the plant from the previous pot, to precisely remove the sections that are no longer healthy with clean scissors, after which after selecting a larger pot than the previous one, the healthy roots should be kept intact and slightly bent when inserting the new pot. A common technique is the one that involves the use of bark but also walnut and peanut shells that give the soil greater drainage.

The orchid corresponds to the common name given to the flowering of the species Asparagales which, although it corresponds to a fairly large family, seems to be closely linked to […]

[5

post-24733","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-advice
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.4 -
