What is the best way to take care of them to always have them vigorous? Find out below.

Orchids are tropical plants that, by now, we have learned to appreciate even in our homes as decorative elements.

Orchids: characteristics of charm.

Considered beautiful and fascinating plants, orchids come from tropical countries. Its cultivation, until several years ago, was carried out in greenhouses or in very humid and hot environments.

Over the years, however, the most widespread orchids can also be grown in more European environments, characterized by decidedly less mild temperatures than the tropics. The scientists then gave life to new hybrids, decidedly more resistant and easily reproducible.

The name of the orchid is of Latin origin and means testicles, a term that refers to tubers that are clearly evident at the base of the terrestrial species endemic to Italy, in the mountains or hills.

In addition to the colorful flowers, the leaves of orchids are also very beautiful. They are whole, oval or ribbon-shaped with a fleshy consistency. The shape of the flowers is very recognizable and is made up of three sepals at the top and three petals at the bottom, the central one of which is called the labellum.

The roots of orchids are aerial and fleshy. They are meant to absorb moisture in the air and the surfaces they adhere to.

Often, after the first bloom, the orchid is thought to be dead and forgotten to take care of it. In reality, contrary to popular belief, there are very few tricks to having a healthy orchid at home. In addition, there is a trick that we are going to reveal below, which will allow you to have healthy and lush orchids. Let’s see what it is.

Vigorous orchids? A single tablespoon is enough

If your orchids haven’t bloomed yet, they may need a change of air. In fact, these plants usually bloom when there are changes of season. Either way, there’s a natural ingredient that can help orchids thrive. It serves to increase root proliferation and activation.

The ingredient that can be found in all our kitchens is garlic. Yes, you read that right. Garlic powder can be put on orchids. In fact, garlic is an antibiotic that protects plants from fungal diseases and insects. It can help remove all dead roots and leaves.

To use it as a liquid nutrient for orchids, simply add a tablespoon to a glass. Next, you need to pour boiling water over it and mix well. After letting the glass cool with its contents.

For medium-sized orchids, five tablespoons of water and minced garlic will be used. An operation that should be repeated every 2 weeks. It would be best not to give too much liquid food to orchids because otherwise the desired result will not be achieved.

In recent years, orchids have become very fashionable.
