Succulents are available in many different colors and shapes, and are ideal for decorating and giving a touch of vitality and color to our homes.

Most succulents prefer sunlight, but some can grow more than well and thrive even in semi-shade, placed in bright places but without direct sunlight. Below we list the 7 succulents that are best suited to indoor environments.

1. Sansevieria trifasciata

They are among the most resistant houseplants in the world, and adapt well to any climate or light situation. Widely used to decorate homes and offices, they have an attractive and modern look that fits well with any style.

Sansevieria tolerates torrid climates, but they must always be protected from direct sunlight. It should be watered every 2-6 weeks, depending on the temperature, light and humidity of the context.

2. Aeonium tabuliforme

Aeoniums are very attractive succulents due to their rosette-shaped leaves. They have compact, almost flat foliage and spiral-shaped leaves.

They can grow well both indoors and outdoors, but they must be protected from frost and should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Water little, without creating stagnant water.

3. Aeonium “kiwi”

Colorful succulents are among the most popular. Aeonium “kiwi” has green leaves with a touch of bright color on the edges. This plant is a slightly milder hybrid than other plants belonging to the same genus.

The Aeonium “kiwi” is rosette-shaped, with leaves capable of retaining a lot of water and slow growth.

4. Gasteria gracilis

This genus of succulents, with a shape similar to aloe, is native to South Africa, where it grows in semi-shaded conditions and on well-drained soils. The plant tolerates lower light conditions than other succulents, which is why it is perfect for indoor environments.

The Gasteria needs little water and must be fertilized once a year. Remember never to expose it to direct sunlight.

5. Crassula ovata “Gollum”

This plant belongs to the Jade tree family and adapts very well to shade. Gollum is very easy to find and can be reproduced just as easily from small cuttings.

It needs light, but prefers shade in particularly hot climates. It can be grown indoors, but it should be placed near a well-lit window. Make sure it has good drainage and water sporadically.

6. Hawortia

They have pointed leaves full of white spots. It needs very little care and is one of the easiest succulents to grow.

Make sure the plant has good drainage and only water when the soil is completely dry and its leaves begin to curl (every 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the climate). In winter, they need much less water.

7. Crassula ovata (Jade Tree)

It is one of the most widespread and appreciated succulents, both at home and in offices, because it is considered a good luck charm. Easy to care for, just follow a few small precautions regarding light, temperature and fertilizer.

Unlike other succulents, the Jade tree should be watered more frequently. Never wait for the soil to dry completely, but don’t overwater. Water only when the top of the soil is dry to the touch.

The Jade tree needs some sunlight to grow, so it’s a good idea to place it near a window.

Share article

Important: This website does not give medical advice, nor does it suggest the use of techniques as a form of treatment for physical problems, for which medical advice is required.
