If you’ve ever tried to germinate  an avocado seed at home<\/strong>  , you know how difficult it is to get a plant. Although it is a somewhat longer process, it is possible to grow avocado at home like other plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The  avocado tree<\/strong>  grows best in warmer regions, as it just needs warmth to develop properly. However, it can also be grown in cold areas if you protect it from cold and frost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below we suggest the basic care you need to take to grow  an avocado tree in a pot<\/strong>  and make it grow healthy and strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Good germination<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Clean the avocado seed well and pierce it with 4 toothpicks, so that you can put it in the water with the tip upwards. Change the water once a week to prevent it from rotting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seed will take about three weeks to germinate. The ideal time to grow avocados is spring. Once the first leaves have been produced, it will be ready to be placed in a vase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Pot size<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In regions where the temperature often drops below 10\u00b0C, it is recommended to plant the avocado tree in a pot that can be kept indoors. The avocado is very sensitive to cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you live in a temperate region with mild winters, you can put the avocado in a slightly larger pot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Ideal floor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Avocados need acidic soil, with a pH of 5 to 7. The ideal mix is \u200b\u200bmade up of equal parts peat, coconut fiber and earthworm humus. Finally add a handful of perlite to allow the soil to aerate well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The soil must also be able to drain water well. The avocado is sensitive to waterlogging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Basic care<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • Freddo. Move the plant indoors and keep it near a window to ensure the right amount of light. If you decide to keep it outside, cover it with thermal foil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Heat. You can use burlap to provide shade and prevent the sun from burning the delicate leaves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Watering. The pot should have good drainage. If there is no water, the leaves will show brown spots on the tips.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    5. Fertilization<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Add fertilizer during the warmer times of the year, which is when the plant is developing and growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You can use the same earthworm humus that you used for the soil composition. Just place it on the surface of the vase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. First size<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
